Large shawl that will truly become an heirloom. This stunning lace shawl uses basic lace stitches only. If you have knitted lace before, this one will be a breeze. Suitable for an adventurous beginner also, the charts are easy to read and to memorise. Size can be adjusted easily. Chart only, no written instructions.
Skills necessary:
Yarn over, SSK, K2tog, blocking of the finished piece. The square is knitted in the round and the triangle is knitted flat. Instructions for both included.
Yarns suggested:
Blue Faced Lace, 800m/100g by Hedgehog Fibres: 2 skeins. Pictured in ‘Wish’ colourway.
This yarn has been discontinued, but we carry a wonderful alternative - Merino Lace that will be gorgeous for this pattern.
Needle:
4mm, 24’’ or longer pair of circular needles
Size:
approx. 180cm square, or 250cm wingspan, after blocking.
Errata:
SQUARE version: row 24 purl - it should be knit and BOTH versions Row 9 of the Edging Chart should start and end with 5 stitches instead of 4: “yo, k5….k5, yo, spine stitch”
